For some years I had a theory that the weather at a funeral reflected the character of the person who had passed way. Complete nonsense of course, but there it is. The day dear Uncle Alan's funeral was beaming sunshine and a clear blue sky. So I was right. Uncle Alan was one of my strong childhood memories of meetings at Beadon Road, Auntie Shirley's childhood home. And an even older memory of watching a cricket match that Alan was playing. The Watson family are regularly in my thoughts as there is a young lady at my place of work - John Lewis - who is a spitting image of a young Auntie Shirley! I loved the photographs shown at the service, which showed the love and warmth of the Watson family, and of course a grown up Kerri! The touching tributes of the family were very sincere, and I admired Adam, and particularly Martin, for being able to speak at the service. Also being able to recite Alan's places of school attendence! Information I sadly lack about my father. Very pleased to hear Alan had been to New Zealand three times. Despite his fine age, it makes it no easier to cope with his loss. But learning of his many achievements, you can rightly feel very proud.
